The Prayer Shawl Ministry of St. Bernard of Clairvaux is made up of women who have chosen to use their creative gifts of crocheting or knitting to reach out to those around them. We use our talents to create shawls for those who are in need. Shawls are given to those who are ill, suffering from a loss, or finding life difficult. The shawls are a very visible sign of our love for our neighbor. Just like the feeling of our Lord's arms around us at times of difficulty, the shawls provide warmth and comfort. The shawls are a reminder that we are never alone.
If you enjoy knitting or crocheting, you are cordially invited to join the Prayer Shawl Ministry.
New members are welcome. We will gladly teach you!
The Ministry has begun making Prayer Shawls for those in need of comfort as they go through a difficult time in their lives. We have shawls of different colors and designs ready and waiting for your request. If you would like to give a shawl to a teen, adult or senior who is in need of prayer, please call, Vivian Cline at 908-526-5019.
We meet each month and bring whatever shawl we are working on, share patterns, learn new tips and stitches. If you want to learn how to knit or crochet, we have wonderful, patient teachers. There are no quotas – no special patterns. See the bulletin and website for scheduled meetings.
